Tuolumne Meadows, the jewel in the necklace of Yosemite's high country, is just about my favorite automobile accessible spot in the Sierra. Melting snows and the bank bursting Tuolumne River flood the meadow for but a brief period of time during a higher than normal snowpack year. It is within this rare moment of time that Tuolumne's emerging grass and wildflower spectrum transforms into a reflecting pond mirroring its peaks, domes, and sky.
