A snowy, late start to the Sierra 2010 summer season and clouds of voracious mosquitos kept me at bay through July. During that high season month, I began to reminisce, and then obsess, about previous kayak trips on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho. Upon completion of that "wet backpack", I was fortunate enough to take my 5X7 camera into the Sawtooth Wilderness. That midsummer's sojourn at the beginning of August forced a later than planned Sierra shooting trip of the Great Western Divide into early Fall, at September's very end.
